Woodside Park HOA Units 1, 2, 3 and 4 is a voluntary association offering membership to all property owners in Woodside Park Units 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Pine Junction, Colorado. Your membership supports WPHOA in providing valuable services and making our community a better place to live. Every property owner in Woodside faces challenges that arise from living in the mountains, from clearing snow in the winter to protecting our properties from fire danger in the summer. Facing such challenges on our own can be daunting. Being a member of the Association allows each of us to benefit from collective strength. Join us, or renew your membership, and be a part of the future of Woodside! Dues are $30 per year, plus a one-time $10 fee when first joining. Click here for a membership application form.

While membership in the WPHOA is voluntary, please be aware that all lots in Units 2, 3 and 4 (not Unit 1) are subject to mandatory Covenants that have been in place since the creation of the three Units. The Covenants are enforced by an Architectural Control Committee established by the Covenants. A link to the Covenants can be found on our Documents Page. For a list of members of the ACC, please click here.

BURN BAN INFORMATION FOR PARK AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES - Updated 21 January 2023
For Park County, please call the hotline at (719) 836-4160 for updated information. You can also sign up for email and/or text alerts regarding fire bans on the Park County website on the Notify Me page. Park County also uses CodeRED to push out emergency notifications to its residents. It is highly recommended you sign up for CodeRED.

Please refer to the Jefferson County website link, Jefferson County Fire Restrictions or call the Jeffco Hotline, (303) 271-8200 for updated information as this may change at any time. It is highly recommended that you sign up for Lookout Alert (replaced CodeRED in 2022). For more information about emergency notifications in Jefferson County, go to their website.

BURN PERMITS: Fire Districts in Colorado are no longer authorized to issue burn permits. Residents of Jefferson County click here for the application form and Residents of Park County click here.

Please do not disturb the FIRE BAN signs (when posted) or the Fire Danger Rating placard on the two Woodside Park entrance signs at Mt Evans Blvd/Nova Road and Parker Rd/Nova Rd. Our Firewise Committee follows fire bans and fire danger ratings issued by Park County and the Rocky Mountain Coordination Center. Please respect our efforts to keep the Woodside community informed.

FIREWISE CHIPPING EVENTS - Updated 23 February 2023
Unfortunately, the program filled in the first 2 days after sign-up opened up. Elk Creek Fire Protection District (ECFPD) has closed the sign-up website. Below is the link to the site in hopes that they may add additional capacity and open it up to more people. One can hope. This is the link:  https://arcg.is/4CCeK0

ECFPD provided the following guidance as to how the progtram will run in 2023:

Chipping operations are planned to start in middle to late May and be completed by the end of October. Individuals who were able to sign up will recieve group emails notifying them once they are assigned to a "service group". Service groups are determined by geographical area and the number of homes ECFPD can complete in a one month period. Each service group will have a one month window of "expected service". ECFPD could show up as early as the first day of the assigned window or anytime during that month.

Please keep in mind that the Fuels Crew also manages the implementation of fuel breaks, mitigation projects, and acts as an initial response resource for wildfires and other emergencies. If there is a delay of more than one week for a specific group, ECFPD will send out updates via email. Updates will also be posted on the ECFPD Chipping website (on the chipping tab) every week.

Pile Guidelines
  • Chipping will take place Monday through Friday and start at 8AM.
  • Improperly stacked piles, and any piles stacked after 8 a.m, may not be identified or collected.
  • Stack piles neatly (no bags), with the large ends of branches facing the road.
  • Place piles within 5 feet of the roadway, but not touching the road or in drainage ditches.
  • Maximum pile size is 5 'x 5' x 5'. There is a 15-pile limit per address.
  • After crews have removed your pile, clear away any remaining branches, needles and debris.
  • Do not combine piles with neighbors' piles or place piles in other neighborhoods.
  • No piles that have been created by any machinery.

Piles that don't meet parameters, are hard to find, or hard to access take much needed time and effort out of the program.

If you were unable to sign up for the ECFPD Chipping Program, another option would be to haul it to the Jeffco slash collection point. Last year, they were conveniently located across the street from the Crossroads Bar and Grill for 3  or 4 weekends in July. Hopefully they will use the same site this year. There was a fee of $20 per 6 cubic yards (a long bed pickup truck stacked as high as the cab roof). I made a few trips there last year and found it to be very easy and convenient. It was also nice to be able to get rid of the slash as I generated it and not have it pile up into a hard to manage mess and I could plan exactly when I wanted to work on fire mitigation on my property.  Another option is the slash collection site in Bailey. We will update info of both the Jeffco and Bailey slash collection sites for 2023 as it becomes available. They typically resume operations on or about 1 June so they should have their info for 2023 out to the public a few weeks before that.

REFLECTIVE  ADDRESS SIGNS AVAILABLE FROM OUR LOCAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTS

It is strongly recommended you place a highly reflective address sign at the entrance to your property for easy and fast identification in the event of an emergency. You can order a reflective address sign from either the Elk Creek Fire Protection District (ECFPD) or Platte Canyon Fire Protection District (PCFPD). As of January 2023, both departments were charging $10 for the sign.

•ECFPD – Mail in a request form. Forms available here, red and white signs
•PCFPD – order on-line , green and white signs

Ideally, place the reflective address sign on a non-combustible post at the entrance to your property.

RODENT CONTROL
An informative paper on the importance of reducing rodents within Woodside and the effectiveness of the Rodenator in addressing rodent infestations as humanely as possible has been prepared by Dr. Mit Parsons, a Woodside resident since 1993. Dr. Parsons is a retired Wildlife and Fisheries Ecologist from the USDA Forest Service. Dr. Parsons is a certified Wildlife Biologist and Certified Fisheries Scientist. He is a consultant in natural resource management and has his own business, MitPar Enterprises. You can view, download or print a copy here. The attachment referenced in the paper, Nuisance Wildlife Laws in Colorado, can be found here.

Rodent control services are available in our community.  Please see our Resources, Local Services page for contact information for this and other services.

EQUESTRIAN CENTER MAINTENANCE
Maintenance in and around our equestrian center is performed by members of our community on an ad hoc basis. If you are interested in helping, please contact any member of our board of directors and we will reach out to you whenever we have a project. Click here for list of board members.
